Camping and Slumber Parties

Shane decided to suprise his family and
show up to join them in Flaming Gorge, UT for their annual camping trip!
When he's in his element, out comes the boy in him...

He reports that he had a blast and it was awesome to hang w/ the fam.

Meanwhile...

Since I couldn't go to Utah due to my internship,
I decided to take this chance and have a

girls only slumber party!

We dined out...

Walked to get ice cream, enjoying the beautiful Long Beach sunset...

(This was an America's Next Top Model pic
- the other girls didn't get the memo)

Timer picture!
(explanation of the crooked framing)

Then we ended the night with a chick flick squished together on the sofa-bed
(the movie wouldn't work in our beat-up DVD player, so we had to watch it on my computer,
but it made it that much funnier)

If you haven't gone camping or had a slumber party in a while -

we recommend it!

A little suprise for my main man!

Shane's birthday was coming up and I asked my pal
Sarah if she had any good ideas for me,
and she kindly offered to
help me throw a party for him at her place!
I thought it would be fun to make it a suprise...

Our friends did an awesome job w/ the big moment!

We chowed down on one of Shane's favorite dishes: extreme nachos.
Delish!

It was a beautiful evening in beautiful Long Beach, as usual :)
We couldn't miss the Lakers game...

Smore's for dessert! Ah yeeeah.
One year old and wiser too...

Happy birthday babe!

A toast (of sparkling cider) to end a very fun night!

Thanks to Sarah and Bryant for hosting,
thanks to all our friends who celebrated w/ us,
and thanks to Shane for not being mad at me for being sneaky - I love you!

Memorial Weekend on the Colorado River!

Shane striking a pose at sunset on a boat in the Colorado River...
Some friends of ours were kind enough to invite us out for a four day Memorial Day weekend at their family's AWESOME river house on the Colorado.

The view from the balcony.

Shane attempting to do "The Moose" while wake boarding.
(You'll know what that is when our Wipeout episode airs! Yikes.)

We're continuing the Harris' family tradition of ladder ball.
We highly recommend it!

It's harder than it looks!

We did some EXTREME tubing...

and wave runnering...

and golfing...

and four wheeling...

and foosballing!

Shane made a fun little video:

So yeah, it was pretty much a dream weekend :)
We're already planning our next trip:)
A shout out to good friends!
