Heff and Sweater Vests

Hilarious yet creepy.
The weekend before Christmas, Shane and I went with the Hull family to participate in one of their favorite Christmas traditions. We met up w/ Bryant's high school buddies, walked down a blocked off street where every house was TOALLY decked out in lights and crazy decorations (as you can see) and stopped along the way to sing Christmas carols.
Our chorister was very entertaining. We sounded awful because we were laughing so much!
Ahh, laughing and caroling.
This same weekend we also had a very fun Christmas party:
Appetizers, awesome white elephant gift exchange, and sweater vests.
What more do you need?
Thanks to our friends for a fun, festive weekend!

Navy Beans are my favorite food

It's a sad day. Navy is moving away.
My brother Brian is moving his family to Rexburg so he can finish his degree in graphic design.
I thought it would only be appropriate to have our last bonding experience at the happiest place on earth... Disneyland!!
Sarah, Disneyland expert, graciously lead the way through the park to all the best rides for the younguns.
Navy was a brave little rider! She was a very fun DL companion.
Wide-eyed and super cute the whole time.
Navy has become great friends with Ella and Katie. These girls are going to miss each other!
But not as much as I'm going to miss this girl!
I know Brian is going to be a designing mogal someday and that moving away is neccessary, but it's still a bummer!
Kirst- can't wait to see your first blog of Navy playing in the snow!
We love you guys and we're going to miss you tons!

Happiest birthday on Earth

Since living in Southern California for 2 and half years (wow, that's crazy...)
we have felt a cosmic pull toward this magical place...
Well, not really, but our friends REALLY love Disneyland and they've been desperately trying to talk us into getting season passes with them. For 2009, there is promotion for a free day pass on birthdays!
December 14th came and off we went.
(Yes, I got a haircut with my 83 year old friend Dorothy. Turns out old-lady hairstylists can work it!)
(Yes, those are my sweet photoshop skills shown below.)
First ride: Space Mountain. Epic.
"The Stars, they're just like US! They enjoy visiting Disneyland!"
It was very exciting to see Halle Berry and her model BF.
Sarah, Megan, me and Shawna. 3 hot moms and a professional babysitter.
By the way, these 3 moms are Disneyland OG's and know everything there is to know about everything. From which direction to hold your arms on a certain ride, to how many feet are between each trash can. I had the best hosts ever for my first DL experience. Screaming and clapping all day. Oh yes.
I couldn't control my urge to climb on the Swiss Family Robinson tree house
or raise the roof. Whoops.
What's awesome is that is was Megan's birthday too!
We had birthday pins and birthday churros.
And then this happened:
I upgraded to a season pass!
I'd officially and publicly like to thank Sarah Hull - it wouldn't have been possible without you. Tear.

Our neighbors Penelope and McKayla are Disneyland experts and met up w/ us for some Disneyland Adventure awesomeness!
Hungry from all the excitement, free fresh, warm tortillas hit the spot!
My new BF.
We topped off the night with some tasty Mexican food and flan.
Not so sure about the flan, but I was happy to get to blow out a candle on my 24th!
Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and made it an awesome day - I felt very loved.
I have the best friends and family a girl could ask for.
Here's to a magical 24th year of life. Disneyland4ever.

If you smile for just ONE more I'll give you the BEST surprise EVER!! Pleeeeaase...

This is what Shane and I did last Sunday...
We got Sarah a PERFECT family photo, wiped the sweat off our foreheads, attempted to catch our breathe, and posed for a few holiday photos of our own.
I'm soaking in these non-kid photo sessions while I can ...this day gave me a glimpse into the future :)
God bless you Sarah, God bless you.

Feeling Festive

This is the first Christmas that Shane and I are spending without our families... and in order to not get too bummed out, we decided a little holiday decor would cheer us up and get us in the right spirit.

Welcome to our home...
Homemade beach/bay sign which shows the extent of my craftiness :)
Spending Christmas in a one bedroom in southern California = tiny fake Christmas tree.
We wouldn't want it any other way!
Since many of you haven't been to our place, we thought we'd show you around a little...
Awesome hand drawn picture from Vietnam! Thanks Mom and Dad! We love it.
A a big, goofy grin for you all.
Jaws bathroom.
Kitchen!
A HUGE thanks to Nancy (Sarah's mom), for being so kind and thoughtful to buy us all these cute decorations! You have made our holiday season more happy and festive. My mother thanks you!!

I hope you all have been getting into the Christmas spirit. What an awesome time of year to look outside of ourselves, show more love, and think about Jesus Christ. I love the holidays! Merry Christmas!

Getting Artsy

Long Beach Museum of Art: Free Fridays!
A few weeks ago Shane and I took our local museum up on this offer and cruised down Ocean Blvd. on yet another beautiful sunny day.
The photo below is the view from the 2nd floor. Saweet.
If you come visit us, we'll take you on a bike ride to the Museum! We've got extra bikes!! You know you want to!
